John E. McKinley entered the ministry in 1945, from First Baptist Church in Jacksonville. He received his B.D. degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He served as pastor of Norwood and Englewood Baptist Churches in Jacksonville. McKinley and his wife, Betty, also served in Orlando, Hollywood, Homestead, and 16 years at Rainbow Lakes Baptist Church (1974-1990) in Dunnellon.
